claude-skills
A Skills aggregation and distribution repository for the Claude Code ecosystem. It synchronizes and consolidates plugins and Skills scattered across multiple source repositories, providing a unified installation entry point and an accompanying catalog site to reduce installation and management overhead.
Timeline (last 90 days)
Developer Basit Ali Sandhu aggregated 125 Claude Code Skills scattered across 11 repositories into a single repository named claude-skills.
The claude-skills aggregation repository contains 16 plugins and 125 skills, along with an accompanying catalog site with one page of documentation per skill.
In the aggregation repository, plugins are divided by scenario, including Agent Security (9 skills), Agent Identity Governance (8 skills), AWS Security (10 skills), Microsoft 365 Governance (10 skills), Compliance Evidence (7 skills), Daily Development (42 skills), and others.
There are two ways to install the aggregation repository: register the marketplace and install within Claude Code via `/plugin marketplace add basitalisandhu/claude-skills`, or clone the repository and run installation scripts such as `python3 install.py --user`.
The aggregation repository's installer is implemented in pure standard-library Python with no external dependencies; `--user` copies the skills to `~/.claude/skills`, and `--project` copies them to the current project's `.claude/skills`.
The aggregation repository pulls each source repository via a workflow that runs daily, opens a PR if there are changes, and SOURCES.json records which repository and commit each skill comes from.
In the aggregation repository, skill descriptions are validated on every sync: double quotes are used for compatibility with strict YAML parsers, the length must not exceed 600 characters, and they must include Use when and Not for sentences as well as a Limits section.
The skills in the aggregation repository run offline, based on saved export data or the user's working tree; the built-in scripts are standard-library Python, make no network requests, and report no telemetry.
Other agents that support the Agent Skills format can install these skills using `npx skills add basitalisandhu/claude-skills`.
The role of the aggregation repository is a distribution entry point rather than the main development venue; the source repositories remain the place where skills are written, tested, and fixed, test code stays in the source repositories, and issues should be filed in the source repositories.
