Fast Path
A design principle in computer systems that separates fast and slow paths. The fast path handles the vast majority of common cases using deterministic, low-overhead rules; in agent event filtering it is used for zero-cost checks such as allowlists, source validation and deduplication.
Timeline (last 90 days)
SuperAgent uses fast and slow paths for event filtering: the fast path performs deterministic checks (source, whitelist, etc.), the slow path has the model make semantic judgments, and the outputs fall into four categories: ignore, log, accept the task, and clarify.
The concepts of Fast Path and Slow Path originate from the idea of separating fast and slow paths in computer system design, and have similar applications in systems such as network packet filtering and risk-control rule engines.
