Concepthumanoid modeling / Humanoid Modeling
Humanoid Modeling
Humanoid modeling refers to enabling an agent to control a human-like body to perform locomotion and manipulation tasks in simulated or real environments. A central difficulty is predicting the coupled consequences of the agent's own actions and the objects in the environment, since contact, balance and whole-body coordination interact in ways that are hard to model.

The paper's conclusions can be transferred to downstream humanoid modeling tasks, because the two share the same bottleneck: modeling 'how people move' can be improved quickly with large amounts of repeated human motion data, whereas modeling 'how objects change' requires covering sufficiently diverse object properties, contact geometry, and mechanical outcomes.
