Multimodal Foundation Model
A deep learning foundation model capable of processing multiple modalities simultaneously, such as magnetic field and density data. Through independent masking-based training it performs cross-modal completion and super-resolution reconstruction without task-specific retraining.
Timeline (last 90 days)
Although this study uses Japanese financial documents as its scenario, its conclusions about the complexity of interactions in staged training are universal.
This research proposes a multimodal foundation model oriented toward the magnetic reconnection process, used to reconstruct the plasma physics state from sparse, heterogeneous, and incomplete diagnostic data.
