protoAgent
An open-source multi-agent collaboration runtime built on LangGraph. It can distribute a single user request to multiple Claude Code sub-agents running in parallel and displays the organizational chart and runtime metrics in real time.
Timeline (last 90 days)
protoAgent is an open-source project built on LangGraph that can dispatch a single user request to three agents for parallel processing, each agent running an independent Claude Code instance.
In protoAgent's core architecture, the lead agent breaks the user request into subtasks and delegates them to an engineer agent, a QA agent and a researcher agent.
In the demo, the user asks the lead agent to implement a slugify() function, the three sub-agents execute in parallel, and the total cost of the entire task is $0.22.
The org chart on the right side of the protoAgent interface updates in real time as the task executes, and each delegated agent retains data on run count, success rate and cost.
All of protoAgent's data is stored in a local SQLite database, the project states it has no telemetry, the code is open-sourced under the MIT license, and the project is at github.com/protoLabsAI/protoAgent.
In the protoAgent demo, the lead's own Claude Code takes over the follow-up work: running all 74 test cases, fixing failures, and adding the new function to the README documentation.
