Rules
A deterministic inspection feature in TokenRouter that evaluates expressions in-process for each request or response. It supports interception, redaction, transformation, routing, and alerting, and provides an observe mode for safe staged rollout. Because evaluation is deterministic, the same input yields the same outcome, which supports reproducibility and auditing of policy behavior.

Rules are usually declarative constraint entries written by users in natural language or a structured format to specify conditions that must be followed, such as code style, tech stack and review checklists.
In terms of load order, Rules and Skills usually take effect before or independently of the system prompt, so replacing the system prompt does not automatically disable them.
In TokenRouter, Rules evaluate expressions in-process on every request or response, supporting interception, masking, transformation, routing, or alerting, and provide an observe mode for safe canary rollout.
