Service Mesh
An infrastructure-layer technology that intercepts network traffic between services through sidecar proxies to provide traffic management, security policies, and observability.
Timeline (last 90 days)
The infrastructure layer (service mesh, API gateway) is suitable for a first coarse filter, but it is difficult for it to bear per-call semantic-level policy enforcement alone, because what it sees is network requests, not the agent's decision intent.
Modern large-scale systems typically contain the impact of failures to a local scope through mechanisms such as load balancing, service meshes, and circuit breaker patterns
