Cloud Agent
A cloud-based agent execution environment introduced by Cursor. It runs on hosted remote virtual machines with a full operating system environment (including a desktop GUI), an isolated file system, and a network stack. It supports installing dependencies, launching services, simulating mouse and keyboard input, and recording screen output for verification.

At the Android Developers Summit, Google announced that Android Studio officially connects to third-party coding agents through an open protocol, supporting the installation and simultaneous running of more than 40 tools including Cloud Agent and Codex.
Examples of Agents that BYOA allows to be connected include Cloud Agent, Codex, and Anti-Gravity.
A Local Agent directly operates on the developer's own file system, whereas a Cloud Agent runs on a remote virtual machine with a complete operating system environment, an independent file system, and a network stack.
The Cloud Agent's virtual machine is destroyed or reset after each session, preventing dirty state from accumulating across multiple tasks.
Each conversation of the cloud agent runs in an isolated virtual machine environment, so even running multiple tasks simultaneously will not cause conflicts from code mutually modifying each other.
