RAG-CSI
A retrieval-augmented generation framework for wireless channel state information (CSI) prediction. It builds a global-local CSI knowledge base and combines joint state-dynamic retrieval with a cross-attention Transformer predictor to achieve cross-scenario channel dynamics representation and prediction.
Timeline (last 90 days)
RAG-CSI is a CSI prediction framework based on the retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) idea, whose core is the construction of a global-local CSI knowledge base.
RAG-CSI uses joint state-dynamics retrieval (JSDR), which simultaneously characterizes channel state similarity, phase dynamics, and amplitude dynamics to retrieve CSI sequences.
The global knowledge base of RAG-CSI contains representative observations across scenarios, while the local knowledge base comes from historical observations of the current serving scenario.
The predictor of RAG-CSI is a Transformer, which fuses the retrieved knowledge sequences with the current CSI history through a cross-attention mechanism.
The cross-attention fusion approach of RAG-CSI introduces only a limited number of additional model parameters.
The paper validates RAG-CSI on a multi-scenario CSI dataset, achieving an overall improvement of more than 10% on each of five evaluation metrics relative to the best baseline for that metric.
RAG-CSI reduced normalized mean squared error (NMSE) by 15.42% in the experiments.
The limitations of RAG-CSI include the construction cost of the global knowledge base, the stability of retrieval quality during cross-scenario transfer, and the retrieval efficiency as the knowledge base grows in scale, which the paper abstract does not elaborate on.
