The new version of Vercel CLI allows AI agents to enable Web Analytics and Observability Plus features for a project without an interactive terminal.
Previously, enabling Web Analytics or Observability Plus required developers to manually run commands in an interactive terminal.
Web Analytics is Vercel's built-in lightweight traffic analytics feature, which can usually be enabled without an additional subscription but may be subject to plan traffic limits.
Currently the selectable components for project cards cover four categories: Firewall, Observability, Speed Insights and Web Analytics.
Web Analytics and Speed Insights both belong to Vercel's observability product line; Web Analytics focuses on traffic and audience behavior and does not rely on cookies by default, while Speed Insights focuses on performance experience and collects Core Web Vitals through real user monitoring.
The selectable Web Analytics metrics include online visitors, visitors and page views.
If a feature is not yet enabled for a project, the enablement flow can be launched directly from the component menu without leaving the Overview tab; this capability currently applies to Speed Insights Plus, Web Analytics and alerts.
